TerraImaging deploys the most recent airborne remote sensing technologies – airborne laser scanners and digital cameras. We have developed the required software to process the data and extract all the relevant information. The data is airborne acquired, either from a helicopter or a fixed wing plane.

Airborne laser scanning, which is also referred to as Lidar mapping, is a technique based on distance measurements produced by a laser rangefinder mounted in an aircraft. The aircraft's position and orientation are determined with accurate IMU and dGPS systems. The raw data obtained is a 3D point cloud, which can be further interpreted and classified.

Our digital cameras acquire images with incomparable radiometric and geometric accuracy. These true colour or near-infrared images are used for making rectified, orthoimages, depending on the elevation model available.

By taking advantage of the full potential of the combination of laser scanning and digital imagery, we developed the software tools for creating 3D colour images. Seen from above, these 3D photos look like true orthos, but in perspective view, you enjoy a highly accurate, very detailed and easy-to-interpret colour elevation model.
